Following repeated child-injury incidents near two schools in Saint-Louis, Sénégal, Amend has implemented new infrastructure to calm traffic and create safer crossings. The upgrades now offer more secure daily journeys for around 1,300 pupils in the Darou Salam community.

In Bouaké, Côte d’Ivoire’s second-largest city, more than 5,700 children at four schools now benefit from safer journeys to class. Through the Safe Schools Africa programme - delivered by Amend with local partners and supported by AFD and the FIA Foundation - new infrastructures are making high-risk routes safer for young lives.
