The two-day event showcased real-world impact and concrete commitments from governments and development partners to make school journeys safer.

The Safe and Sustainable Transport Action Plan launched for Tanga City addresses challenges like road safety and growing traffic. Key initiatives focus on pedestrian infrastructure, motorcycle safety, and community partnerships, aiming to improve transport conditions for all as Tanga faces rapid economic and population growth.

Amend launched Safe Schools Africa with €1M funding to scale lifesaving school area safety across Sub-Saharan Africa. Partnering with the FIA Foundation, World Bank, and others, this initiative aims to build safer roads for children while promoting sustainable, people-centered design in major infrastructure projects.
