On 17 April, on World Public Transport Day, Amend took part in the webinar “Safe Journeys to School: Protecting Africa’s Future Through Safer Mobility”, an initiative led by the Africa Transport Policy Program (SSATP) in collaboration with the African Association of Road Safety Lead Agencies (AARSLA).
On this occasion, Ayikai Poswayo, Programme Director at Amend, shared our work towards safer mobility for children, particularly through practical Safe Schools infrastructure installation and technical assistance on multilateral development bank financed road projects, highlighting a key element: Integrating road safety principles from the earliest stages of road design is essential to prevent risks before they emerge.
The event brought together policymakers, development partners, and technical experts across Africa, providing a valuable platform to influence policy and practice on safe school mobility.
