Amend's programs focus on the neglected epidemic of
childhood injury in developing nations. Our focus is prevention:
stopping injuries before they happen. All of Amend's
work is evidence-driven, measurable and self-sustaining.
Amend is a New York City–based nonprofit. Please

Amend is a charitable nonprofit under section 501(c)(3)
of United States IRS tax code. All contributions to Amend
are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.

Jeffrey Witte
Jeffrey is Amend's Executive Director. Prior to founding
Amend in 2005 Jeffrey was a political organizer,
a multi-media project producer, a professional musician,
and many other things.
Tom Bishop
Tom is Amend's Africa Director. He has a background in transport planning and
has worked extensively throughout sub-Saharan Africa.
Aurelie Drexler
Aurelie is Amend's FInance Director. She brings over a decade of experience in the finance sector to Amend's work.
Kingsley Amoako
Kingsley is Amend's Ghana program manager.
Josiah Matagane
Josiah is Amend's program manager in Tanzania. He has many years' experience
in road safety and transportation management.
Michael Drexler
Michael Drexler is a former investment banker.
Leila Kazemi
Leila Kazemi is currently completing her Ph.D
in international relations, focusing on the effects of
foreign investments on developing countries. She has been
involved with a number of national and international organizations
devoted to promoting social progress.
Solomon Kuah MD, MPH
An emergency department MD with fellowship training
in international emergency medicine, Sol is an assistant
professor at Columbia University's emergency medicine
residency and conducts fieldwork in developing-world contexts
and situations of forced migration.
Andreas Lazar
Andreas is an investment banker at Allen & Company,
a firm specializing in the media, communications, and technology
industries. Prior to re-joining Allen, where he had also
worked from 1998-2005, he was a senior executive at Sirius
Satellite Radio. He lives in London with his wife.
Moby
Moby is a well-known musician, social activist, entrepreneur,
and artist.
Lindsay Newman
Lindsay is a PhD candidate in the Politics department at New York University’s Graduate School of Arts and Science. Previously, Ms. Newman was a corporate attorney in the Capital Markets/Securities practice of White & Case LLP. She holds a B.A. in Political Science and International Studies from Yale University, and a J.D. from New York University School of Law.

Alexander Berberich
Alexander is a filmmaker who dedicates much of his time
to global issues.
Andrew Boose
Andrew is the founder of AAB Productions, a leading event
production firm with experience in New York, Paris, Los
Angeles, Venice, San Francisco, Cannes, Boston, Berlin,
Philadelphia, Milan, and elsewhere.
Uzodinma Iweala
Uzodinma has received a number of prizes for his writing, including
the Eager Prize, the Horman Prize, the Le Baron Briggs Prize, and the Hoopes
Prize. He is the author of the novel Beasts of No Nation.
Bianca D'Souza
Bianca is a public health professional with extensive
international experience in program design, implementation,
and evaluation. She is currently based at the London School
of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and manages the ACT Consortium,
a global research partnership formed in November 2007 to
answer key questions on malaria drug delivery in Africa
and Asia.
Alex Guerrero, MD
Alex Guerrero is a physician based in New York City specializing
in developing world trauma surgery and injury epidemiology.
He has worked in Africa and Latin America.
Charles Mock, MD, Ph.D
A pioneer in the field of injury in developing nations,
Dr. Mock is active worldwide with injury-prevention initiatives
and is the head of trauma care at the World Health Organization.
